A customer in England had a custom blade that was made by Swedish knifemaker Julius Pettersson. He asked if I could make a handle for it in a style similar to one shown on an episode of Ray Mears Bushcraft TV show.
Here is the blade as I received it.
I drew up a couple of sketches
We decided to go with the first one using stag, buffalo horn spacers, Australian mallee, a nickel silver bolster. I added some red and brass accent lines.
Here is the handle glued up.
And the finished knife.
Next I made a custom fitted pouch sheath with a hammered finish that I felt complimented the rustic nature of the knife.
